Greetings Survivors,

After much deliberation between the staff and I, we are asking for your opinion now! Now, you are asking what is so important that a poll is needed? Well, most of the staff are in favor of a new world with 1.13. I am personally on board with this idea. However, I am aware of some in the community who are not on board with this. Well, I've made this poll/thread so you can convince each other. Some rules for this are listed below:

1.) No arguing excessively. If you have an issue with what a member put, privately message them.
2.) No profanity. I do not want to see any swearing. Replacement words such as Fak are okay.
3.) Follow all chat rules.
4.) Lastly, have fun.

The poll means, majority wins. The final decision will be made by Seffora and I.

Well I wanted to make a statement because to try and convince everyone. I believe the server needs a reset, I have been playing for a long time now, and now all I do is grind for money, and mcMMO. I believe this world reset would help in so many ways, it would put a purpose in for a lot of people and everyone could refresh with new goals and new builds. I think it would make everything way more interesting and erase the same old boring grinding for me, and I know many others.

In my opinion, I think that a reset would be a new breath of fresh air.
Many memories have been made in the current world, but alot of mistakes were made as well over the past year.
Now that the bulk of the player base has been acquainted with not only the commands/rules/towny/etc, but each other as well.

Starting over gives us all the opportunity to start new nations with friends we've met from other nations.
Forge new alliances. New players on the diplomatic and international stage. And new shopping centers for those with a penchant for making coin.

Even though some older players like myself might scoff at the idea, I think it would be beneficial to us as well to reset.
Think of your towns, and how it's impossible to get from one town to the other without teleporting?
Now think of what could be done if, with the knowledge of the old world, you built your nation's towns together? It would increase interaction!

I personally miss the idea of just traveling to another town, and it would be fun to set things up in a better way in a brand new world.

I always say to myself: "Through your mistakes, you are given the keys to succeed."

Well, in this new world, I look forward to doing the things I couldn't due to space, inexperience, etc.
Take a second and think to yourself, "What could I do differently if I had known better?"

Well in the new world, you have the knowledge! Take your newfound experience and show the world what you can do in Survival State Season 2! :D

If you asked me if I wanted a world reset 2 weeks ago, I would have said no. However, I agree with others that I have grown bored. The only thing I do is grind mcmmo or talk in chat. Some of my friends have left the server due to no reset, I would love for them to come back as well. A restart would bring many people back to the server and make the server more fun in general.

While I do not support the idea of a world reset, I would not quit or have a problem if the world does get reset. I have made some cool projects on the world and I still have many more to make. It would be kind of boring just to have some of the projects done for nothing and it would be boring if I had to do them on a downloaded world. But I would still like to have a world download after the reset so I could see my builds and the other wonderful builds on the server.

There would be a world download, however it would be a giant size. If its too big for yall to install I might enable the mod WorldDownloader. This downloads the area around a town or nation.

I have been preaching a world reset for months now and I feel with 1.13 on the horizon most people would agree that It would be better off with the reset since a lot of the new border has already been explored and there wouldn't be much of the new content to explore. along side the new content that 1.13 has brought. I could rant about why we need a reset all day but I dont have that so have this broken down version of what i have already typed over the last 20 mintues.

Hello Survivors,
I'd like to cast my own personal opinion on this shenanigans. I am essentially for a World Reset, this has been on my mind for a while and it's been playing at me whether I am a 'Yes' or a 'No' and i'd like to conclude I'm a 'Yes' to having one.

1.13 already bestows a bunch of hype and it is clear that the community wants 1.13 on board at SurvivalState, now I know that those who oppose this ideal, to have a world reset, will be thinking that your work will be lost. However look at it in a positive light and see that new opportunities opens up more chances to build better stuff. I've played on this server for more than a Year and I couldn't agree more that I have seen players leave due to it getting 'boring' and there needs to be a big change or a possible world reset. This is the perfect chance to do that and ultimately you will get to see me die multiple times over just simply attempting to get my own set of Iron Tools and Armour. So very Exciting!!!!

As of late, I have been very inspired by Hermitcraft to start building my own base, it took me 2 month on the current world to actually finally start building my own base. Yes, you read that right. 2 MONTHS!!! I was relying on others to help me, whilst I was helping the whole server during being part of the staff team. This reset would allow me to start again and hopefully get my base up and running within 1 week, or maybe 1 day #dirthouse!

1.13's hype is building up very fast. We as a server have been very overwhelmed by the horde of people who have said "When is 1.13 coming to ST?" and quite frankly we want is as much as you. We need a new chance to get back those who have been here over the past year and a bit, but may have left due to their own reasons. We need to build relationships with new players in that an update to 1.13 could provide us with. So, what happens if we vote 'Yes'?

We would regain control of the economy, allowing it to be fair for all players no matter new or old. We'd stop the clear evidence that there is a little amount of mines to explore unless you go further and further outwards from the center of the map. We'd bring new members in to which will allow better, more exciting relationships between individuals. A whole host of things are quite simply on the Horizon if you vote 'Yes!!

A vote to 'reset' and a better, more exciting experience on the server is much more safer than to be stuck in endless boredom.
I voted 'Yes', will you?

P.S Have a nice rest of your day folks!

I have been going back and fourth between whether or not I want a world reset. On one hand, I would be a tad bit sad to lose all my hard work. On the other hand, I'm very excited to have new things to do! I'm definitely leaning towards the reset though! Also, I think giving players a chance to gather their things would be great. Kind of like having 2 worlds, but the old one would be deleted eventually. Glad to be part of the community!!

Edit: I'm actually really sad that the world is probably getting reset...

Hello fellow members of the ST community!
Today, I would like to give my take on this poll while providing you with meaningful evidence to suggest why my opinion is essential to help the ST community grow into a positive direction.

Just a couple months ago, I began to see polls over this topic in multiple locations. Up until now, I voted thumbs down on every single poll. I began to realize this is a new topic that is being discussed everywhere, essentially in every single chat channel on discord. This began to scare me because of the fact that I have spent days upon days on the server grinding for money and building projects that I never thought I would ever accomplish. I even thought of a solution to solve everyone's problem: a new and updated world accessible from /hub. But now I understand that it makes the server twice as hard to manage. Although, after reading other's comments and opinions, I believe my opinion has changed. Here is what I gathered:

We have passed many milestones, exceeded large numbers in every area, and made lots of memories on the server that we would never forget. Furthermore, I believe we can do it all over again! Over the past year, we have seen player's imaginations spill out into the lands of Survival State, we have witnessed the economy skyrocket- allowing hard-working players to become multi millionaires, and we have seen many relationships grow strong. It may be hard to let it go, but remember, memories are memories. They wouldn't be memories if you still live in them. It has been an amazing run for the first year of Survival State, and I believe it will be an even better year if we go forward with this reset. As always, there is some cons that come with a reset, but I believe there is much more pros. Here are some opportunities and thoughts that I came up with:

A world reset has lots to offer for this amazing community: It gives the chance for new players to be able to catch up and grow with the economy, players/friends from other lands can connect together and unite into one nation/town, new alliances could be made, old relationships can connect closer, new relationships can be made, everybody starts out the same so it would be fair for everyone to grow together, and mistakes will be left in the past giving players a chance to redeem themselves.

Overall, I believe this reset would be essential to help our community grow and flourish into a positive direction. At many points in life, we need to let the past go. Amazing memories were made, but I think this will give us the opportunity to make lots more. Please take this into consideration and vote "Yes" for a world reset. Whatever the turnout of this poll will be, I will respect the decision of the community and will continue to grow with it!

Thank you for your time and thought! ~miner

I'm using Schematica to save a copy of all my builds. Then if I want to rebuild it I just have to load it in game. It's great to use once you get the hang of it.
